What is an OBD2 Scanner?

OBD2 scanner is a device that receives various vehicle data from the car’s standard OBD2 terminal and delivers the data to users.

All cars are required to have standard OBD2 (On-Board Diagnostics) devices built-in, which provide data related to the car’s current condition and driving.

Can all OBD2 scanners also use the OBD2 Car Scanner app?

The universal OBD2 scanners can also use the OBD2 Car Scanner app.

The universal OBD2 scanner was inevitably implemented as a policy due to difficulties in addressing the different characteristics of each scanner individually because each scanner has different characteristics.

Can a vehicle breakdown or accident be caused by the OBD2 Car Scanner?

OBD2 Car Scanner  is used for simple inquiries of ECU data. Therefore, there is no risk of vehicle breakdown or accident due to the use of OBD2 Car Scanner, so you can use it with confidence. The OBD2 Car Scanner puts the driving safety of our customers first.

Is there any risk of vehicle discharge due to the OBD2 Car Scanner?

The OBD2 Car Scanner consumes very little standby power, about 1/20 of that of a black box, so there is little risk of causing vehicle discharge. However, it is recommended to remove it during non-operation for a long time.

Please tell me about how to install OBD2 Car Scanner on a scanner car

The OBD2 Car Scanner must be installed on the OBD2 terminal of a vehicle. Most of the OBD2 terminals are located in the car’s fuse box or under the driver’s seat.

I failed in the attempt to execute Restore the purchase data.

Cause 1. If the Internet environment is not smooth

The process of ‘Restore the purchase data’ uses the Internet to look up purchase data from the App Store or Play Store. Please try again in an environment with a smooth internet connection.

Cause 2. If the purchase account is different

Purchase account classification is based on the account logged into the App Store or Play Store. Please log in with the account through which you purchased from the App Store or Play Store. If the problem persists despite the above measures, please email the log file along with a detailed description of the problem through [FAQ] – [1:1 Contact Us] in the OBD2 Car Scanner app.

DPF data is not verified.

OBD2 Car Scanner provides ‘International Standard Data’ and DPF data as ‘Maker’s Data’ which are separately provided by the maker. If DPF data is not provided in the dashboard or monitoring, please download the maker data through the [Settings] – [More data] function. However, the above method may not support the vehicle model or the vehicle ECU version.

The auto-shutdown function does not work.

Cause 1: The automatic shutdown function is turned off.

Check that the [Auto Shutdown] function is turned off in [Settings] in the app, and activate the Auto Shutdown].

Cause 2: When the [Hybrid & ISG] function is set on the vehicle.

Even if the vehicle is not equipped with a hybrid or ISG system, if the [Hybrid & ISG] function is set, the automatic shutdown function is not executed.

Check if the [Hybrid & ISG] function is set in [My Car List] – [Edit My Car], and turn off the [Hybrid & ISG] function.

If the problem persists despite the above measures taken, please email the log file with a specific description of the problem via [FAQ] – [1:1 Inquiry] in the app.

When trying to execute [Register My Car], information pertaining to my vehicle cannot be found in the maker and model list.

If you cannot find the maker and model of your vehicle when trying to execute [Register My Car], you can enter the model directly via the [Direct Entry] function at the top of the list. Even if your vehicle is not in the list of makers and vehicles, there is no problem in using the app. The reason for registering the maker and vehicle is to distinguish between vehicles when registering multiple vehicles in the app. If you send a maker or vehicle that is not on the list through [FAQ] – [1:1 Inquiry] in the app, we’ll add it as soon as possible.

Some data is not available.

OBD2 Car Scanner provides some ‘International Standard Data’ and ‘Maker Data’ separately provided by the maker. Even though a lot of data can be provided normally when using the OBD2 Car Scanner app, but some data may not be viewed. That’s because the data was classified as ‘maker data’. Our OBD2 Car Scanner is constantly updating to support these data.

The fuel economy is different from the actual consumption.

If some of the data related to the fuel injection amount and intake air used in the fuel economy calculation are not provided by the vehicle, the fuel economy measurement may be different from actual fuel consumption.

OBD2 Car Scanner developed the [Fuel Economy Correction] and [Fuel Economy Calculation Method] functions to complement such fuel economy errors. If the fuel economy data is different from the actual one, the errors in fuel economy data can be complemented through [Settings] – [Vehicle Data Calibration] – [Fuel Economy Calibration] – [Simple Fuel Efficiency Calibration]- [Fuel Efficiency Calibration by Refueling]. You can change the calculation formula in [Settings] – [Vehicle Data Calibration] – [Fuel economy calculation method] as well.
